چکیده
Introduction: Acrylic resins (i.e., heat cured acrylic resins) are the most common materials used to manufacture removable dental prostheses involving maxillofacial such as obturators. Their mechanical and physical properties must be adequate for their use durability. It is therefore vital assess how affected by different disinfectants. Aims: The purpose of this research was evaluate effect chemical disinfectants on surface hardness resins. Material Methods: Forty specimens (65 mm in length, 10 width 2.5 thick) were manufactured from testing according ISO 1567:1999. study consisted four main sets applied (control, 1% hypochlorite, 4 % chlorhexidine, Efferdent®) each set contained ten specimens. All placed saline solution at 37°C incubated 60 days. then tested using a tester three times average reading recorded. data analyzed SPSS version 16. results significant level (p≤0.05). ANOVA (analysis variance) test whether there any differences among all groups. comparisons between means obtained Tukey test. Results: There slight decrease mean values after immersing chlorhexidine-assigned had lowest value hardness. On other hand, control group highest value. However, no regarding groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: slightly decreases heat-cured

Study of the surface hardness and modulus of elasticity of conventional and microwave-cured acrylic resins.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the following acrylic resins: Clássico, QC-20 and Lucitone, recommended specifically for thermal polymerization, and Acron MC and VIPI-WAVE, made for polymerization by microwave energy. The resins were evaluated regarding their surface nanohardness and modulus of elasticity, while varying the polymerization time recommended by the manufacturer. They were al...
